Prayer & Retreats

As a Catholic School, prayer is part of our daily life at Bishop Walsh, as each day and meal is started with prayers of thanksgiving. A popular program is our Prayer Buddy initiative in which our middle and high school students are paired with elementary students in organized, one-on-one activities such as crafts, lunches, outdoor play and prayer. It’s difficult to determine who enjoys the activities more – the younger or the older students.

While all students are required to take religion classes, BW middle and high school students participate in daylong spiritual retreats, led by our religion education faculty and members of our local Catholic clergy. Seniors experience a special Senior Retreat each fall, which includes an overnight stay at a camp or retreat center for a time of goal-setting and reflection as they prepare to leave BW and start the next chapters in their lives.
