Robotics

The BW Robotics program is an innovative and comprehensive initiative designed to introduce and develop robotics skills among students at different educational levels: elementary, middle, and high school. The BW Robotics program, in collaboration with the University of Maryland 4-H program, aims to foster a love for STEM and preparing students for future careers in technology and engineering.

Bishop Walsh participates in competitive robotics year round with youth participating in FIRST LEGO League in the fall and the Maryland 4-H LEGO Challenge in the spring. Robotics is also used to teach and reinforce science concepts at the elementary level. Mr. Burkett, high school science teacher, also has his middle school STEM students build and program SuGo bots (sumo wrestling LEGO robots) in the spring.
